Leading French printing software developer Caldera is launching VisualRIP, an entry-level annual subscription RIP package for large format customers. The new RIP is based on Caldera’s award-winning software, providing a range of essential features to bring professional printing within reach of small businesses. The product will be available through the Caldera eCommerce portal mid-October 2023 and via Caldera’s authorized dealer channel.
VisualRIP’s fast and intuitive user interface lets printers produce high-quality signage and visual communications with ease. By simplifying essential prepress, color management, finishing and automation features, Caldera believes the new subscription package will bring a host of user benefits and better ROI for this competitive market segment.
VisualRIP’s compatibility with a wide range of print & cut peripherals results in optimized workflows and substantial time savings. The subscription package embeds Adobe PDF technology for accurate reproduction— and includes Pantone, HKS and RAL spot color libraries along with automatic spot color detection tools for advanced color management. In addition, included prepress features will allow users to save up to 20% on media.
Sebastien Hanssens, Caldera’s VP Marketing & Operations, says, “We’ve created this new RIP package to reach out to users in the smaller end of the market who might have previously been put off by the cost and complexity of existing RIP packages. By introducing VisualRIP subscription, Caldera is bringing affordable access to professional printing software for a whole new group of potential customers.”
Subscribers can choose between two versions of the new package– Essentials and Pro. Pro users will benefit from additional features which include advanced automation capabilities with SmartImport, trimmer support, job cost viewing with CostProof, and EasyMedia to enable matching colors on all media and printing technologies.
“Providing new and existing customers with solutions that fit the way they want to print lies at the heart of everything we do,” says Sebastien Hanssens. “With VisualRIP, we’re extending our offering to users who will have had little experience of a proprietary RIP product before. It’s our chance to reach a new customer base with an easy and cost-effective route to high-quality large format printing.”
