CHILI publish gratefully accepted a 2020 EDP (European Digital Press Association) award during the virtual ceremony for CHILI publisher, the SaaS software that simplifies and automates how graphics are created. The EDP Awards are regarded as one of the most prestigious technical honors in the digital printing arena, with its judges validating CHILI publisher as the best-in-class layout, design and editing software of 2020.

Mike Horsten from Zemt Consultancy was on hand to judge the software solutions submitted for an EDP award. And with a particular interest in software as a means to simplify and optimize the production process, his expertise and experience was an ideal fit for the category: “Software is more than just a solution, it is a means to make systems more viable. The EDP Awards have always kept a close eye on the evolution of this category. The EDP judge panel was wowed by how workflows stepped up the game and it is time users realize that software makes operations more viable - especially when it comes to templating. This process optimization step makes the entire graphic reproductive system easier, faster and, ultimately, more profitable.”

When asked why the award went to CHILI publisher, he adds: “CHILI publisher packs an incredible graphic knowledge base in very user-friendly templates. Every template provides a perfect print-ready output, even when it’s being handled by a non-graphical user. And with the latest Dynamic Layouts features, users can even turn it into a format fit for web, digital or social. Innovative thinking that leads to true content repurposing. This could be the major differentiator for printers looking to add value to the platform they offer.”

Cindy Van Luyck, CMO at CHILI publish, accepted the award with a word of thanks for the EDP judges: “The growing digitization trend calls for smarter and more profitable content communication campaigns that captures attention, both offline and online. We believe in an on-brand and on-trend visual future, where quality should never be compromised. That’s why each template has extensive graphic knowledge running in the background, and a very user-friendly handling on the forefront. It is our mission to have everyone make perfect visuals for both online and offline. We’re grateful for the inspiring feedback of the judges and the recognition this second award brings to the hard work of our team.”

The company is also determined to make even that process more efficient. John Arnsdorf, Product Marketing Manager at CHILI publish, explains the new ‘Smart Crop’ feature in the latest release: “With smart templates, users can apply creative automation to generate thousands of output variants. Our new Smart Crop feature makes sure templates know what the subject of the image is, where to position it, and how to resize it. It makes the in-template design process even more fluid and puts the integration with any third-party image data system to even better use.”
